Novak Djokovic Heaps Special Praise On Alexander Zverev As He Culminates A Successful Year

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been one of the most dominant sportspersons this year. To win the first three Grand Slam events of the season is not everyone’s cup of tea. However, as much as he is gracious in his victories, he is generous in defeat, too.

The Serbian ace often congratulates his opponents and rivals when they accomplish something great. After the ATP Finals 2021 concluded and the German Alexander Zverev ended up winning the title, the World No. 1 sent him an emotional message congratulating him on his great season.

The 34-year-old player stated, “Alexander Zverev had a tough year on/off the court. I know how much tennis helps me to grow & I’m happy that it was Sascha’s winning field this year. He is such a great guy. I can only say words of praise for him & his team. Well done for the grand season finale & a big trophy Sascha!”

Prior to the finals, Djokovic faced Zverev in the semifinal of the ATP Finals 2021. In that match, it was the German player who prevailed and won the match in three close-fought sets.

On the other side, Zverev had the best season of his life. He won the Olympic Gold medal and titles in Madrid and Cincinnati. He ended the season on a high note, winning his second ATP Finals title.
